Every year, Americans get together and celebrate our freedom and independence through the most American traditions we can think of. Cookouts, fireworks and, of course, some of the craziest cocktails ever created. As our flag waves high, what better way to celebrate than with our own rendition of the Red, White, and Blue Piña Colada?
Replicated all over the country, we have come up with our own delicious twist on this patriotic drink and today, we are giving away our recipe to help you host the most festive fourth party in town. So with out further ado, raise your glasses...and your flag to this boozy, American treat.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 4 Tall Glasses
3 oz Malibu Caribbean Rum
3 oz Bacardi
12 oz Pineapple Juice
3 oz cream of coconut
1 medium banana
Ice to desired thickness
1 tsp grenadine syrup
1 tsp blue Curacao
In a blender combine rum, Bacardi, pineapple juice, cream of coconut, banana, and ice. Blend until desired thickness, adding more ice as needed. Pour the mixture into a glass, only filling it 1/3 of the way, and then add the grenadine, stir. Fill the glass the rest of the way and add Blue Curacao to the top. Stir in Curacao with a straw or spoon submerged only an inch into the mixture (giving the striped appearance). Add a straw, garnish with pineapple, blueberries, and a cherry and enjoy.
Note: It is important that the grenadine goes in first because it sinks to the bottom whereas the Curacao will not.
Drink responsibly and Happy Fourth of July!
