We all go nuts for Nutella, but honestly, who wouldn’t? This sweet, decadent and creamy hazelnut spray can liven up even the darkest of days. Hazelnuts walked so that Nutella could run. Nutella is an extremely popular spread, and for good reason.
Nutella was first invented in the 1940s by an Italian bakery owner named Pietro Ferrero who was eager to find an alternative to chocolate. He mixed hazelnuts and a little bit of cocoa and viola! Nutella was born.
The actual branding of the Nutella name occurred in 1964 when it was brought to the UK market. It is now so popular in the UK that it oversells the controversially flavored Marmite. (We’re not really surprised though.) In 2015, one jar of Nutella was sold every 2.5 seconds worldwide. That is a lot of Nutella. Imagine how many loaves of bread that could cover!
Here at Boston Burger Company, we’re no exception to when it comes to loving this nutty spread. We love Nutella so much that we slather it all over one of our core #freakfrappes, The Nutella Frappe. This tasty treat is a Nutella milkshake (well, duh) with Nutella wafers, a coconut rim, and of course, Nutella! We also drizzle the heck out of it with chocolate, because why not?
Are you a Nutella fanatic like us? If so, what’s your favorite way to eat it? We think you can guess ours but let us know in the comments! In the meantime, come on into BBC to celebrate National Nutella Day the best yummiest possible.
